Fiery Furnaces

Eleanor Friedberger – Personal Record

This is no clever tribute record mind, or accomplished addition to an already impressive back catalogue; this is a bona fide classic.

Incendiary interview Eleanor Friedberger

I mean I really like the playfulness of the band, I’m totally for that, and we’re not a normal band: we don’t have a sound, we don’t sit in a room and jam like a normal band.

Eleanor Friedberger – Last Summer usual with Friedberger’s other work - she always seems to provide an absolute gobful of words and phrases in each song:  everything is in the manner of a very frank, open and detailed confession, seriously explained over coffee in some small breakfast joint.

The Fiery Furnaces – I’m Going Away

The Fiery Furnaces are back with their addiction to fitting as many riffs into one song as is humanly possible.

Incendiary interview The Fiery Furnaces, part 1

"Yeah, my mom worked in the zoo and she got thrown in to the dolphin tank her last day of work.  (Astonished Laughs) She said it was the most frighteningly amazing thing she's even experienced. "

The Fiery Furnaces - Bitter Tea

"“I'm a crazy crane, I lost my true love in the rain” to a tune that could have been robbed from The Mikado. It's not normal, I tell you. And, in other peoples' hands it could well be insufferable. "

Fiery Furnaces - Rehearsing My Choir

It is an album of almost unimaginable folly, of incredible indulgence?
