There can be few finer songwriters than Mr. Bill Callahan. It remains a source of constant wonder to me that he is not revered more highly than he is.

with Woke on a Whaleheart we have something else – Bill having fun and sounding like he might just be in love.

It doesn't make any sense but it has an enjoyably eerie feel about it.
