John Peel would have loved this. That doesn’t mean that the rest of us will though. A typical Peel type band VBL sound like something held together with a bunch of gaffer tape and a love of The Fall and George Formby. It’s mildly humourous and pleasant enough to listen to and I would say they fall somewhere in between The Fall and Half Man Half Biscuit on the North West of England musical map. The only problem is, they’re not as good as either of those bands. It’s not worthless by any means but I’d be lying if I said this was something you should really search out. Still, I’ll bet they make a good pub band so make mine a pint of bitter and I’ll see you in there about half seven, yeah?
